Jim and Joe both had some lambs. Jim tells Joe "give me one of your lambs and I will have twice as many as you will then have. Joe retorts "give me one of yours and then we will have the same number." How many sheep does each have before they start trading? This can be solved intuitively or with algebra? I will provide the answer Thursday evening.

Joe and Jim have their four lambs on an airplane when the engine quits, Joe throws Jim a parachute and says: "Put this on, we have to jump!" Jim says: "What about the lamps?" Joe says FUCK THE LAMBS......, Jim says: "Think we got time??????"

Jim has 7, Joe has 5 Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

superbjversion has it correct. I would like to know whether she did the equations or used trial and error or had seen this teaser before. Algebra solve Jim's lambs = x Joe's lambs = y Jim gains a lamb x+1 = 2(y-1) reduces to x+1 = 2y-2 reduces to x = 2y-3 Joe gains a lamg x-1 = y+1 reduces to x = y+2 So the first x = the second x - 2y-3 = y+2 which reduces to y = 5 (Joe's lambs) and x = y +2 or x = 5+2 = 7 (Jim's lambs. Next time I will set answer to approve comments so the first person to answer does not keep others from working on it.
