Sneek Peek - New Profile Views  First off, a happy Thanksgiving to all the stateside folks. Most everyone here is off until Monday. For our overseas friends - Yes, celebrating our relationship with the Indians is a bit wack. We this land and stole it from them while killing many of them with our puritan diseases. But for one day of the year we like to pretend none of that happened. Instead we get drunk and stuffed with our families, and each person gets to say what they are thankful for. This year I'm thankful for my job as this marks my one year anniversary at Lesbian Date Network. OK, enough about me. In the coming months your photos and videos are going to take a bigger role in your world here. You'll be able to add multiple pics and even videos to your blogs and groups. First out of the gate is a change to the way you can view photos/albums and videos in your profile. What we have now: Right now there are two tabs on your profile (Photos, Videos). Each tab takes you to a little view of photos or videos within that little square in the top left of your profile. What it is changing to: On your profile, there are 3 tabs (Main Profile, Videos, Photos/Albums). Right now each tab shows you Each of those tabs will take you to a different view. For example, if you click the photo tab, it will show you a view with all photos and albums that member has uploaded. You would have to go back to the Profile Main tab in order to see the description of that member. On this post you can see the Profile Main View. Here's the views from the other 2 tabs: Profile View Videos Profile View PhotosAlbums Note Your profile photos are considered an album moving forward. Your profile photo album. This is pretty much how every other social networking site does it (think Facebook). If you guys have any thoughts, if you think we are missing something, or you think you may want to kill over this change - please let me know before we make the change. |

If it is not broken why screw with it!Every new ceo on wall street wrecks the company with his ideas for change etc.Does it say face book anywhere on Lesbian Date Network.Get a life and leave my profile alone,please.I don't think anyone wants anything changed.Well get rid of the nigerians and the ghana jerks.thanks keith

It looks an awful lot like the "new profile" style they tried earlier this year. I was one that was against that style. I prefer the classic style. I don't mind the added tabs too much.

As nassy said it is too like the new profile look that was brought out and failed. Why cant they just repair the things that are already broken instead of playing games making new profile looks, Cant wait to see the feed back on this, How many man hours did it take to create this, when they could have been spent investigating other problems.

Sorry, I don't see the need to re-invent the wheel when it comes to profiles & how stuff is displayed on there. I think what we have now is sufficient. (Why would I want to click on another tab to see the photos (then click through the photos,) when i can see them all 5 at a time now on the main profile view? I do think this will eventually be aimed at allowing the standards to see & use less & less of the site, which I'm not in favor of.

I agree with the others.. if it isn't broke don't fix it. I also don't see the need to have to click on a link when they are there on the side bar and I can click on that pic if I want to see it. Standard or not, I don't want to have to click to go somewhere else to see something that HAD been right there. I also am going to ad, and I am sure someone will slam me for this, this idea seems to scream "get more naked photos out there to lure more in for money to be made" all over!! It goes hand in hand with the "guarantee to get laid" and with that, more and more men will be waving more and more freaking cock shots at us as if we don't care about anything but his penis even if he looks like Quasimodo or acts like a Neanderthal (sorry real Neanderthals!!) I am so sick of this crap and not you guys doing something that really has teeth in it that KEEPS people here. I am sure you have a contingency here that JUST looks a pics all day.. but honestly.. most DO want something more.

Hard to believe this blog is still called "Lesbian Date Network is Listening". Well, maybe not. No audio. Lesbian Date Network is NOT READING might be better, but maybe it's all about the visuals. I understand that Lesbian Date Network is a business and needs to make money. What I do not understand is why as a gold member, I sent two emails to support that went unanswered. I explained why I was going to let my gold membership lapse, and just go standard. Not even the courtesy of a bot response thanking me for expressing my concerns. Seems like a not too intelligent business model to let the only response be to allow me to go standsrd, and not address my concerns and entice me to keep paying. People that have been around here a lot longer than Ryan and I have expressed opinions, but Lesbian Date Network does not seem to be listening or reading. Maybe bloggers and magazine reading and commenting should be restricted to paying members. Seems like long ago, standard male members could look at a few profiles, but limited pix, and if you wanted to look at higher resolution pix, ya need to pay. Wanna look at more than five or so profiles, need to pay. I guess that little glitch got fixed. This now standard male member cannot even view profiles in my network, I cannot find a way to give friends kudos. Now, more changes are proposed. I'm starting to believe that decisions have already been made, and it just depends on how many people are pissed off when the changes will take effect. More pissed off people are, sooner the changes will take effect. If Lesbian Date Network is reading or listening, and wants to return me to the flock of paying customers, which I seriously doubt, Lesbian Date Network will need to answer a few questions, and address a few issues I have brought up. I honestly expect that I will soon be banned from placing a comment on this page. I expect to get more nag screens insisting I pay. I expect more marketing ploys proposed by marketing majors that didn't do that well in school. The "get laid" promise I keep seeing might be grounds for arguement. Lesbian Date Network might say if you got prone and went to sleep last night, you "got laid". Others might argue they didn't have intercourse in the sexual sense since they agreed to the terms of the "guarantee" that they deserve some free months. Maybe Lesbian Date Network does listen, but I haven't sen recent evidence....Beach Labore pro Pacem

Maybe I missed this in the discussion so I apologize ahead for my repeating a question or err in locating the answer. But I am wondering will the photos under this new tab, those in the public albums, be viewable to standard members or just premium members. Right now any photos or videos in those tabbed areas you must be a premium member to see in: but the albums if public I believe anyone can see including standards. I wanted to put up some pictures of my area, interests etc, not nudes or any people just what interests me for all members to enjoy in the public albums. I just realised you may mean that we get angry or violent over it. (???) But then again ... some peoples ??? He he.) No. What I meant was ... Kill the change! Drop it. Profiles made much more sense before. Consumer behaviour wise. How a person reads etc. Left first always then down etc. Plus, as other have mentioned, there are much more important thangs like ... when are you going to have more words for mood like Wet Wet Wet Moist Irritable Hot Miffed Dangerous He he. . Aw 'gawd' noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Gheez I just might wanna kill over it. Kill my account when next due. Sheeeeesh! PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS CHANGE TO PROFILE PAGE LAYOUT. Just found out that no one can see all the beautiful work on a profile page, all the imagery that so many of us simply adore, (let alone cannot read the words of the darn profile,) unless they/we now need to: SCROLL DOWN. But hey you guys (and I do mean GUYS here in particular, not just Lesbian Date Network personnel,) MOST MEN and definitely a heck of a lot of PEOPLES, would not even know to scroll down. They would think the profile 'spiel' ended where the scrolling need started. (Let alone that most are not interested to read much in the first place, unless there is some imagery or SOMETHING to entice them.) And OH ... all my/OUR beautiful beautiful imagery cannot be seen. The wonderful talents of our fabulous Blingmakers. Howsitgoing, Smulch, Cuteabs, Sir Douglas etc etc. ALL of them. Who make my (our) profiles, blogs, interactions look sooooooo gorgeous and amke it SUCH fun to communicate !!! Gheez Lesbian Date Network if for no other reason this is a darn good one. Don't you want newcomers of those whom you want to join, to pay ... don't you want them to see THE WHOLE PROFILE? Arrrhggghhhh. Now I'm raving. 'Pologies but sheesh, this last part does have me emotional over it darn it! ...  .... Life is measured by the number of time’s one’s soul is stirred. If you have private albums, no one else aside from network friends will be able to see them. If you have public albums, all gold and silver members can see them and only standards that have earned their popularity privileges or pays points to access your profile can view them. The other exception is if you pay to have the standards can contact me feature on your profile. This should remain the same even if they do make a change to the profile layout.

Ye agree, just got used to classic view and custom/now must just profile to suit views. Great ideas, how about making the changes. Then let members decide what to use rather than change profiles ... as ladylord says, many ppl enjoy making there profiles 'pretty'. Sure keep new ideas coming, but automatic changes? Leave it to us to decide personal perference.

Well...they went ahead and changed it...they also changed the Video Page...so now we are forced to see the lovely offerings from Cams.com...and now we standards cannot see individual pics in our friends albums...way to go! If I wanted to be on Facebook...I'd be there already...sheesh.

FYI Ryan...where on the lovely new profile is the indicator that we are on IMC or on Cam? Not there are they...although there were not that many here to voice their opinion about this...the majority said not to do it...plus I've heard tell that folks can't customize the "new" Profile Page...some have worked their tails off to make their page stand apart form the rest...and now you have capriciously thrown all of that work away...

For those that are going to ask if private albums are viewable now that the new profile layout is in place, or a thumbnail to that private album, so far as I have tested, the private albums do not show up nor a thumbnail to anyone not in your network, regardless of membership level.
