ENDINGS...and the rise of a new moon ENDINGS, AND THE RISE OF A NEW MOON... My older sister died on Wednesday, June 11, 2013... AND... My YOUNGER sister's last day at WORK is TODAY--Friday, June 14th, 2013... Tomorrow, the younger one will be retired for good... She's 66. The older sister is retired for good too, but HER retirement doesn't include any pension or S.S. SHE was 79. There's a spread of 13 years between the two sisters. The sister who just died was in a hospice in Connecticut, and we all knew the only way she was leaving was feet first. Her life for the past few years hadn't been very sweet. She's had Parkinson's for a number of years and also was mostly blind from macular degeneration. She was 79, comparatively young from my standpoint. The thing that finally GOT her was bleeding in the brain. I remember my older sister with fond memories when we were . She was a pretty, sweet girl. This older sister had 5 ,(and now THEY all have ). I guess this older sister was a good mom, at least all her and grandchildren loved her. My older sister's eldest (now 54, herself), was in charge of taking care of her mom. I've been away from THAT Connecticut COUNTRY for over 55 years.... Jeez, how time goes by when you're having fun.. and MY life HAS been a circus. It's always strange how deaths and other tragedies can bring members of families back together after they've gone their separate ways for any number of years. This was the case of my younger sister--9 years my junior--and me. When my older sister had to go into the hospice in order for her to be taken care of properly during her last days on this earth, my younger sister reached out to me by email and we started a rapid-fire correspondence. The misunderstandings of past years have been worked out between us and I think we may be on the road to a good friendship. At least my younger sister knows how to type and use a computer, and likes to WRITE the way I do, so our emails back and forth are just as good or better than conversations on the phone--which for some reason we both hate! This young sister has lived and worked in the Seattle, Washington area for most of her adult life, so she hasn't been connected to the scores of relatives who live in New England and New York State, and hasn't been mixed in with all the "stuff" that goes on in large clans like ours. Did you stay with your family roots, or like me, did you move far from the maddening crowd, across the country away from them, or perhaps even to another country? by David Stardust... Taking care of your parents is a tough job, mmmmchocolat.(I love your user name)! Patti Ann, my sisters oldest daughter took care of Daphne, (my eldest sister), and Patti suffered through the years as her mom steadily declined in health. It's difficult to watch those you love decline. From Kentucky to Arizona is a big change for you, and I hope you'll like the differences there. Thank you for watching my blog. Being a standard I had no way to find you without clicking on your comment, now I can reciprocate and follow your postings. It's obvious to me you're very refined, and I promise to keep my more filthy concepts to my postings and not in my comments. xxxdavid
