BOUNCING BACK BOUNCING BACK My older sister--3 years my senior--has been treated for Parkinson's Disease for a number of years. She also has macular degeneration and most of her vision is gone. About ten days ago this older sister was admitted to the hospital in serious condition because of bleeding in her brain. There's no problem about the medical bills or anyone to care for my sister. The sister has five , and her eldest my niece, let's call the niece P.A., is not only an attorney, but is also some form of highly specialized,and highly paid, medical technician. Becoming the medical tech., came first, then the niece decided to go back to school and after a few years passed the Mass. bar. My niece has mentioned to me a number of times that if she could live her life exactly as she wanted, she'd be a lifetime student. Yeah-- she's bright. She was married for a short time, divorced, no , and is now 54. My niece, P.A. is the only one of all my Connecticut relatives I communicate with on a regular basis--primarily through email. When MY parents died a number of years ago I was barely affected by their deaths. I left home at 19 and never looked back. I had a chip on my shoulder in those days and felt I had been neglected as the 3rd of 4. I always felt my parents were glad to be rid of me. I still think that's probably true. I was a difficult, contrary ... But it's different with P.A. and HER mom. P.A.'s dad died when P.A. was a . Her dad had a massive heart attack while driving at night on a winding Connecticut country road, and ran off the road smashing into a tree. "Blam!" DEAD. P.A. and her mom were always extra close. The love they've always shared for each other is very beautiful and I know when my sister passes (and my sister is probably in her last days), P. A. will be badly shaken by her death. I hope P.A. will be able to bounce back. Tragedies in our lives happen all the time. In my 76 years, if I was a person who got easily depressed, and started thinking of all the people in my life who've fallen by the side of the road, I'd hate to get up in the morning. How about you? Do you bounce back easily from the tragedies in your life, or do these tragedies hang over you for days and even months, and cast a pall over everything you do? by david stardust... I quess it all depends on what one decides is a quick bounce back or not.........is weeks quick or to some months is quick..... to me anything under a years time is a quick bounce back. if you haven't comes to terms with whats happen by a years time their is something seiously wrong.......

As far as I know I bounce back quite quickly although to this point Ive only lost my grandparents whom I really wasn't close to, a few pets and a few friends. Luckily I still have my parents and am close to them. I wont bounce back quickly then, that I know. Sorry to hear about your sister, that's sad Thanks for your condolences regarding my sister. I remember her as a happy, pretty girl. In high school she starred in a couple of high school plays but then she met her husband to be, got married and rapidly had five kids. Up to his death, her husband was a successful aircraft engineer and when he died there was a lot of insurance to take care of my sister and her growing kids.
