Today is Friday the 13th....

Today is Friday the 13th.... Today is another Friday the 13th. I hang my head with a stupid "Duh," expression on my face, and admit, "Yes, I am superstitious." Not only do I believe numbers have certain power, depending on what number your birthday adds up to, I also dumbly admit I believe in Astrology. Astrology makes no logical sense at all, and yet, in my own life, I've seen it working. I carry a small square piece of white paper, only an inch square, in my wallet with the number "8" written in black ink in the center of the little square. In case you didn't know, this little piece of paper with the 8 on it, is supposed to insure you'll always have money in your wallet. M. was a little baffled when I told her last Friday we had to go see the Reverend Don and his wife, because his time was short. We saw him last Friday, He died very early Monday morning. Marisol is much more intellectual and scientific than I am, but she gives me credit for at least being very intuitive. I do a lot of meditation. Meditation is another field where SOME people believe it can change the direction of your life, and other people simply scoff at it, and believe it's a waste of time. I record the over the air hour of Star Trek with Captain Pecard in command. The show runs from 3 AM to 4 daily on some obsure over-the-air channel that's bounced off a rebroadcast transmitter 20 miles away, sitting on one of our Southern mountains. I give thanks to the technology surge throughout the world that created DVR's. I read everything I can about Quantum Mechanics, and try to understand how light can be both a wave and minute particles. I try to understand how particles of light ( photons), can be sometimes paired, even though they may be separated on different sides of the universe. If one of the twins says "jump" the other one instantaneously jumps too.. You're probably wondering why I put in Quantum Theory in this post when the post is about Friday the 13th. The reason is that Quantum Mechanics, String Theory, and all the other Star Trek type information physicists are now working on, probably explains things like what dark matter really is, and why Astrology, Numerology, ancient superstitions, witchcraft and on, and on, and on, somehow SOMETIMES work. Ok, this post is written with a very broad brush. The thing my old, but still inquiring mind would like to know, is.....Are you superstitious too? by Stardust, Friday, May 13th, 2011...Early morning.   |

Before the Internet, and sites like this one came into existence, I often wondered if there were other people who felt the way I did about the strangeness of life. I knew none of my relatives back East ever did. I've tried with the older people in this area to encourage them to get a computer and learn a little about how to use it. It would be wonderful if they could experience the sense of friendship I've found with you Geneva, and the other beautiful people who accept me and even bear (probably by skipping over them), my more filthy posts..xxxxdavid

I enjoy writing these daily posts, and especially answering all the comments made by neat people like you, Geneva. You and I know a person really has trouble living as old as we both have, without stumbling over some things that make us scratch our heads, and know if we dare tell people about the incident, most people will chalk us up to telling stories... LOL.

Yes. That would be wonderful Giggles. There IS actually a lake--really more like a pond--in sight of our place here on the desert. It's named Mesquite Springs Lake, and is on the Marine Corps Base near their main headquarters installation. There's always water in it, sometimes, during the summer monsoon in late July and August, when one or two inches of rain can fall in a short time, the water is quite deep. The Marines treat the runoff water and use it to water their 9 hole golf course, which can also be seen from our house.xxxxdavid

For some reason David, I'm not the least bit surprised by this post. My guess is that you could add "mystic" to the description (the REAL definition of a mystic...not the ones people assume). You are a man in tune with whatever "higher power(s)" exist my friend. Embrace it. Bob This desert area has a strange mystic quality to it. I'd had some very strange things happen to me while living in the L. A. area years ago, but when the Real Estate Agent brought me out to this place, I fell immediately in love with it, and found my true happiness here. I've always had the feeling that I lived on this desert in a different life many many centuries ago. Thank you for your really nice comment, Bob. xxxxdavid

That's very true, Debra. I use the term loosely. I know you're very much into meditation of your own kind. I used to think you were on LSD when you'd come back from one of your spirit encounters.. It's wonderful and powerful to do magic when you're with someone else who can take the force seriously,and use a sexual orgasm to power the thought/emotion into the ether. xxxxdavid

Dear Charmaine, I think those of you native to New Zealand are more in touch with the higher power all around us. The Tarot Cards are a wonderful way to allow that force to gives us direction and guide us on that quest. The healing profession in this country is corrupt, and in a large part only interested in making money off poor, sick people. Even the animal vets in this country are now charging so much money and doing so many needless and expensive tests on the animals brought to them, that many poor people can't afford to even keep a dog or cat...or a horse.xxxxdavid
